It’s already looking to be an incredibly busy week folks. The music is flooding in and we’re almost drowning in it, but no complaints here. For Mix Mondays we’ve got 3 new heavy hitters for you, a little something for everyone. To start you off, Rayko travels to funky space and beyond with his new ‘Disco Feelings Mix’ for SPA In Disco. Would you believe that this guy isn’t even signed right now? How anyone could pass this artist up is truly a mind blowing thought. Free download below!
The New Deal dropped a brand new track this week. Since returning from hiatus, the Toronto-based live electronica group has been quite unpredictable. The fact that they’re even the studio is a sign they’re here to stay though. This is the first studio track they have done together in over 3 years. Check out their new song “Sabotage The System” now!
This is definitely where they start to define a line between their old material and the sound they currently have. I can already see a lot of the older fans being disappointed by this so. I don’t agree nor disagree, but I have been listening to them for quite some time and the song is definitely a far cry from previous works like “Gone Gone Gone” or even newer material like “Octobong”. There some merit to the direction this song has taken. To some it might sound a little too close to “big room house”, but the choice of sounds and dramatic melodies more closely resemble the old school Russian synth music of the 80’s. That’s a very integral influence to their style, and I hope their newer material will hold true to that. We will just have to see how the next tour goes won’t we?
Check out the new Dimitri From Paris remix of Midnight Magic’s “Vicious Love”, available for free download now! Midnight Magic is rooted in the heart of Brooklyn disco. The Vicious Love EP is their debut release on the distinguished and often rambunctious Soul Clap label. If you haven’t figured it out yet, Dimitri is from Paris. You might know him for his elegant goatee and classy disco beats, much akin to other Parisian DJs. That’s a LOT of talent going into one song when you think about it. Did we mention this is a free download?
Silverclub returns to the spotlight this week with the music video premier of “Back to the Start”, exclusively on T&A! The song comes hot off their newest EP, NOW available on Red Laser Records! Just as the title implies, these guys are onto new beginnings. The release marks the jubilant end to a long and bumpy road, personifying everything this Indie project has set out to accomplish. Backed with the new haunting vocals of Henrietta Smith-Rolla and a fresh batch of tunes, these Brits are tearing it up. Watch their brand new music video, directed by Torie Zalben, and check out the ‘Back to the Start EP’ below!
Usually we’d leave it to Mixmag to tell you about stuff related to, well, Mixmag. We can’t resist sharing the labor of bringing this month’s cover mix however. Each month the electronic media giants feature a new artist on the cover, and with it an exclusive mix they’ve put together for the occassion. For October’s issue, they’ve chosen Tiga, one of house music’s longest running, and consistent icons to date. This guy likes to keep things modest, but he’s been leaving his mark on music for decades. When he does have something to say, it’s probably something you should take time to hear. Listen to his exclusive cover mix now!

Were you starting to wonder where all the world’s cosmic tuneage went? Maybe just a little? Well put on your helmets, strap yourselves in, and say goodbye to gravity folks. It’s time for a brand new release from Ichisan. You may swoon accordingly.
Earlier in the year he told us he’d be doing a couple of releases as a precursor to his debut album (which is still in the works). This summer he gave fans a taste of his Extra Ball EP, due on Catune Records this fall. Now, a man of his word, here is a preview of the ‘Kristina’ EP, his second installment of space-laced dance tunes! The Kristina collection is set to drop September 15th on Internasjonal Records and includes two new originals. Despite it’s short length, the EP ranges from the soothing psychedelic overtones one might hear in his mixes, to the more dance-fueled guilty pleasures we hear at his shows. Both tracks showcase a more upbeat and raw sound this time around, an atmospheric result of his synthesizer collection no doubt. Read a full review and preview both tracks below! Space disco, we’ve missed you dearly. Read the rest of this entry
It seems like ridiculously awesome collaborations are the theme this week. Yesterday we brought you the new Drop Out Orchestra/ Nancy Whang tune. You would have thought that was exciting enough, but you would be wrong. So we happily present you with “Brightlights”, the new collaboration from Miguel Campbell and Kolombo! Two amazing talents from two prestigious electronic music labels (Hot Creations/ LouLou Records), making music as one unit. On one side you have the sleezy ghetto-funk style of Kolombo, on the other side, you have the dreamy deep-house/disco influence of Miguel. The end result of this combination is an electric, almost Balearic sounding house tune with a touch of that neon shuffle. You may have already heard this beat start to make it’s rounds during the summer, but now you can put a face to that bass. It wouldn’t be inappropriate to call it an instant classic with these two at the helm. Now we just have to bill them somewhere in the US together. Listen to “Brightlights” below before it’s official September 11th release on LouLou Records!
Seeing new Drop Out Orchestra on our newsfeed is kind of like injecting 100% pure excitement directly into our bloodstream. One of the featured tunes on the mix is their new collaboration with the sensational Nancy Whang! Download the podcast below for free and listen to “I Was Made For loving You (featuring Nancy Whang)” before it’s official release on September 19th!
We’re not done yet guys. The podcast also kicks off with their gritty new remix of Tronik Youth’s “Edible Thoughts”

Miguel Campbell released his final guest installment to the Radio FG Mix Series! Campbell is the sleeper artist you don’t want to miss. You may know him for his floor crushing “Rockin Beats” song, but if you don’t, then please get acquainted. Being a member of Hot Creations, one could argue that he is overshadowed by label bosses Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. That’s not completely true though; his appearance on BBC Radio’s Essential Mix proved to be one of the top rated releases associated with the label that year.
Campbell comes off a tad more humble than his party-hardy colleagues in some ways. He certainly has that psychedelic brand of deep house that only HC could deliver, but he introduces a lot more romance into the formula. We don’t really want to say disco-house, because those connotations don’t resemble his music, or even his mixing. This artist takes intrinsic deep house grooves, and colors them with blissful segments of disco, pop, and ambient terrains. Like everyone else on that label he has experimented with some different styles, but in the last year he seems to really have it pinned down. Everything clicks. That description is fairly accurate, but we do want to warn you that this mix does have some attitude to it. Grab Miguel Campbell’s final mix for Radio FG below! Enjoy!
