Check out the latest in the Classy Dancer series from The Beat Broker. The last two days have seen a lot of beats coming out of San Fran, but this guy hasn’t put out a mix in quite some time and we couldn’t be more excited!
Having pushed the date of its release three times now, the new Disclosure album is to house music what Blizzard Gaming Company is to World of Warcraft nerds. Fans across the globe can stop holding their breath, the British house duo have at last announced the official release date for their highly anticipated debut album Settle. Their first full length LP will be available for purchase on June 3rd. In addition to the album, those who pre-order it will have access to tickets to their upcoming fall tour later this year as well.
Disclosure is a phenomenon, simply put. It’s pure, honest, electronic music and they don’t cut any corners. Formed by brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, these two have a firm grasp on the roots of UK deep house and have proven themselves to be some of the genre’s best in the region’s history. There is innovation, and there is trade, and then there is both. They have mastered a classic formula while retaining a visionary approach to their music. Rather than assuming the role of full time DJ’s, all their music is performed live on synthesizers drum machines, live vocals, and MIDI pads, putting them into a completely different league of house music. In under three years the fast growth of their career has come to resemble the nuclear pulse propulsion theory used in atomic bombs. Since the release of the first single “Offline Dexterity” in 2010, they have since gone on to become one of the most successful acts in electronic music, recently selling out their US tour without even dropping their first album. Settle is certain to receive accolades worldwide, and will no doubt find an immediate home in the top of the charts this summer.
CHeeSeHeaDPRoDuCTioNS has collaborated with electronic rock band STS9 to bring us a high definition video of their entire performance in Ft. Lauderdale last Friday at Revolution Live. After frontman David Murphy’s winning battle with cancer in spring 2011, Sound Tribe is playing tighter and moving forward with the most momentum they’ve had in years. Theatrics never hurt either; Saxton Waller, the band’s light engineer for over 10 years(minus a brief hiatus) is better than ever, especially with larger venues. After wrapping up their tour this past weekend, the band will take a break before gearing up for the summer festival season and hitting the road with Umphrey’s McGee. Watch two kinetic sets from Friday’s show on the links below, and don’t miss them at Camp Bisco this July with fellow “jam-pions” The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, and Umphrey’s!

It appears the demand for streaming the band’s performances live has finally been met. The Disco Biscuits will be streaming the Feed the Rocks event at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado this Saturday. Better late than never we always say. Following two shows at the Boulder Theater, the band will be playing two sets at Red Rocks with support from Shpongle, RJD2, and local acts. This being the first time they have streamed a show live in years, the decision is more than a sigh of relief for fans across the country who are unable to attend.
The Disco Biscuits formed in Philadelphia in 1995 playing college parties and dive bars and have since made a name for themselves as one of the highest selling jam band acts in history. Known for pioneering in the electronic jamband genre that has become quite popular in the Northeast, the band has made a home in Colorado as well, selling out virtually every show they play there. You can watch the entire performance on the web live this Saturday night. Head over to livedownloads.com to pre-order the stream and make plans for your Couch Tour weekend!
A brand new mix from the dark and groovy bug man. Unmistakable to any others, he is undoubtedly a unique individual in his productions, and his mixing skills are equally impressive. You can have this fined tuned power-hour of bouncing guitars and esoteric funk for a free download.
Bella Terra Music Festival just announced its lineup for the 5th annual year of the event. What started out as a mediocre concert set on the highway of Route 7 in Massachusetts has turned into a pretty impressive convention of diverse music and art. Located in rural Stephentown, NY for its 4th year running, each year has topped the last. Last year saw super group Suckerpunch(with members of The Disco Biscuits, Brother’s Past, and The New Deal) headline the festival with an attendance of over 4,000 music goers. Unlike some stale festivals in the area, these organizers are bringing in more entertainment, better music, and bigger crowds each consecutive year, forming their own personal brand in a very flooded event category. The season is upon us ladies and gentlemen. Between Camp Bisco, The Big Up, and Bella Terra, upstate New York is taking the limelight with Northeastern festivals in 2013. Bella Terra is located at Gardener’s Farm in Stephentown, NY and runs from August 15-18th. Mark your calendars and ready your camping gear, this summer is going to be HUGE…

Benji Vaughan is preparing to bring us his new album, ‘Even Tundra’, set to drop in spring 2013. This is his first full length solo effort since ‘Spike’, released under his world recognized alias Prometheus in 2010. Vaughan is a pioneer in some of the most genuine psytrance in the world and has been canonized in the realm of modern psychedelic music. As the lead producer for Twisted Records, he has mixed and collaborated with artists like Ott, Hallucinogen, Raja Ram, Shpongle, and co-founded Younger Brother with trance guru Simon Posford. The entire album was recently available to stream on soundcloud for 48 hours and he just debuted the music video for “Everything in Colour”. According to the artist the 11 track album will feature a music video for each individual song.
The new track certainly indicates a redesigned direction for the artist. Between his work with Raja Ram on “The God Particle”, Younger Brother, and solo productions this artist has proved to transition between styles without trend or failure.Whether it be a cellular escape from the boundaries of “here” and “now”, or a reflection of the events passed, he’ll take you there on a spaceship folks. This is looking to be one of the most anticipated spring releases in refined electronica. ‘Even Tundra’ will be released this spring on Twisted Records.

That’s right. Unfortunately the Camp Bisco veterans Orchard Lounge were not invited to perform this summer’s 12th annual music festival. Meatcamp, the main promoters of the 3 day event have decided not to include them in this summers bill, a big surprise to the Bisco community. The Chicago-based house music trio have played the festival for the last 8 years, earning a crucial place as an integral part of the experience. Aside from performing, each member is a long time fan of event headliners The Disco Biscuits, attending every Camp since its first year. That factors into their playing immensely, having both the perspectives of an artist and a passionate fan in the crowd. This was a severe letdown to f ans of both them and fans of Camp Bisco as a whole. Bethany Lokken of OL publicly addressed her fans regarding the decision last week, stating that “this was a much a surprise to us as it was to you, but we’ve moved on”. A petition to get them on the lineup has been started by a fan in Philadelphia. With their vast and loyal fanbase they’re likely to get plenty of signatures, but would they want to after being excluded in the first place?
Electric Forest Music Festival announced its second round of artists, including exclusive curated events from top acts around the country. Adding some serious flavor to the weekend will be Orchard Lounge, Eskmo, Luke the Knife, Polish Ambassador, and Nigel Hall to name a few. The initial lineup was less than sparkling, but since then the heap of musicians( including super group Suckerpunch) that have found their way to the bill have given it a substantial amount of character. With the heavy addition of 40+ acts, the festival’s lineup is shaping up to be one of the years most diverse. The curated events are especially appealing, particularly the Fools Gold Clubhouse featured at the Tripolee Stage. The Brooklyn based label will be bringing you sets from Danny Brown, OLIVER, Just Blaze, Caze, Nick Catchdubs, Treasure Fingers, Party Supplies and award-winning turntablist A-TRAK.
